2026 Dive Team Coaches
Mac Coulby - Head Coach
We are excited to welcome Coach Mac back as our Head Coach for the 2026 season!
Currently a freshman at JMU, Mac has been a part of the Highland Park Dive Team since he was nine years old. He brings an abundance of diving and leadership experience to the deck, having served as co-head coach last year and as an assistant coach for two years prior. Beyond Highland Park’s summer season, Mac has coached numerous off-season programs, including head and co-head coaching roles at both Highland Park and Hayfield Farms.
Mac’s personal diving career is equally impressive. After joining the Alexandria City High School (ACHS) dive and swim team as a freshman, he went on to win Team MVP in both his sophomore and junior years. During his junior season, he placed 15th in the region and earned his second consecutive MVP award. In his final year at ACHS, Mac was voted Team Captain and received both the Coaches Award and the Spirit Award.
While JMU does not currently fund a men’s varsity dive team, Mac is channeling his passion into establishing a club team so the sport can remain accessible to all.
For Mac, the best part of Highland Park is the close-knit nature of the team; it is where he met some of his closest friends, one of whom even attends JMU alongside him. Coach Mac is eager to get back on the boards to mentor and inspire the next generation in the sport he loves, fostering the same lifelong connections that had an impact on his life and that can make a positive difference in every diver’s future.
Ginny Coulby - Assistant Coach
We are excited to welcome Ginny to the coaching staff this season. She will be acting as Assistant Head Coach to Mac working in developmental dive. Coach Ginny has dived for 3 summers, winning the dive award for best improved during her first summer on the dive team. She then left the team to coach the Highland Park Swim Team for 2 summers and 3 winter sessions. Ginny is a rising sophomore at James Madison University alongside her brother Mac. Ginny runs on the club cross country and track teams where she not only competes but volunteers on weekends at run club sessions with elementary aged kids.
Ginny’s favorite part of the Highland Park Dive Team is the family-like nature of the team that led her to make some unexpected friends who helped her overcome her fear of front flips. Coach Ginny looks forward to becoming part of the dive family again, hoping to enhance the family-like nature of the team.
Mabel Margolis
Junior coach and helper to our newest divers. You want to see your diver hurdle down your hallway all day long-that would be thanks to Mabel. Mabel has been assisting the coaches over the last 4 years. She is a member of both her High School Swim and Dive team where she represented at districts for West Potomac High School. Mabel also is a percussionist for Marching Band (snare) and is a pitcher on the softball team. During the Summer you may catch Mabel competing in a Half Marathon or Triathlon- pretty much the girl doesn't stop.
